Danny Williams didn't get the opportunity to expose the flaws cos he's just plain crap & never had the skills to do so. Interesting to hear though

How many Williams fights have you seen then? I imagine this is the sort of thing you say all the time, as the red line would indicate.

To suggest Danny is plain crap is silly. He never stood a chance against VK, but there are plenty of other fighters he could certainly nick a belt off.

Im not even sure how much of a weakness that is (unless he's fighting a southpaw, where he's walking onto their strongest hand). It would be very difficult to exploit that anyway because u'd have to pressure him on his strong side and chances are u'd just get picked apart by his jab.

I clearly stated that there was a full interview in Boxing News. You tell me one excuse Williams has made.

Williams claimed he threw his right shoulder out in the second round and wanted a rematch but the fight was already over halfway through the first round!

Yeah, but it was a statement made after it was discovered what his medical check-up said... it wasn't an EXCUSE.

Sigh. This thread has become - predictably, as evidenced by my own first reply to it - another "Bash Danny" thread. This completely misses the point that it's actually about Vitali.

How many of you noticed that Vitali has trouble moving to his right before?

I think Vitali has trouble moving right or left but he moves straight back extremely well. That is why he is so hard to catch.

I agree and that's why I feel that when he's moving, your chances of taking advantage/KO/winning/etc are low... rather when he's swinging / mixing it up, he's upright and in the fight raising your chances to connect.

I've seen a lot of Danny Williams fights, probably more than a lot of people as I lived in the UK for several years and follow the British (& European) heavyweight scene. I like the guy, nice bloke (and a mate of mine has met him and says he's a good guy), mad heart and a decent (but not spectacular) chin, but I've seen him struggle too many times against mediocre opposition.
I saw Samil Sam smash him across the ring on the BBC, I saw him look very sluggish against Bob Mirovic (before landing a good combination to finish the fight), I saw Michael Sprott outboxing him in person until a few low blows from Williams changed the fight and I also saw the rematch in which, despite the fact that Williams did enough to deserve the win, he did litle to impress. And just before the Tyson fight I saw him really struggle with Augustin N'Gou, where I'd say he was fortunate that N'Gou got injured or he might have been in trouble.
And by the way, I couldn't care less about this reputation thing or whatever it is.
