Team Williams reveal what they saw to exploit in Klitschko

An interesting interview in today's Boxing News where Jim McDonell spoke of what he'd seen as an exploitable flaw in Klitchsko's technical make-up. (He also expressed his frustation at Sterling McPherson, who was a late substitute for one of Danny's cornermen who was held up with passport difficulties).

What Jim had noticed was that Klitschko only ever moves to the left, never the right. Get him to move to his right and you're exploiting a technical limitation. Unfortunately, as McDonell noted, they never even got a chance to get in the fight. McDonell was full of praise for Klitschko's ability.

to make him circle to the right, you have to pressure him on his left, which would also put you right were his jab is functioning and also risk being setup for the one-two..
      but it might work

Gee...isn't this kinda like "Team Custer" telling us what they saw to exploit in the Indians?

Maybe next week "Team Tex Cobb" can tell us what they saw to exploit in Larry Holmes.

Boxer, you mean man. McDonell said that although the opportunity never came, it's now open for someone else to exploit it one day. Obviously they wouldn't say what it was before the fight...

You don't need to be terribly astute to see Klit's flaws....they're apparent.

But, getting in there & trying to take advantage of them- physically, is very difficult.

I think that anybody that watched the fight can see VK's flaw.

Maybe Vk should keep his freaken' hands up for a change.......

And by the way, I am not a pro analyst, I just do it for fun.

Williams was in the ring with Klitschko, so the opportunity was RIGHT THERE. Williams is just a horrible fighter and got his ass beat. How many excuses do you need after a tremendous ass beating like that. I would expect excuses if it was a close fight or if it even went the distance, but it was a complete shutout, there is no excuse for getting out-landed forty some punches to 300 some punches. It's just called an ass beating.

This was me, posting this as a reply to my own thread, parodying someone who would inevitably post something similar...

... and there's the person who's had the piss taken out of them, predictable as ever.

This thread has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with excuses. It was about a post-fight interview where a trainer congratulated Klit on a performance and then revealed what their understandably-secret-until-after-the-fight gameplan was. It would be nice if we could have a Williams thread without some knee-jerk reaction that's totally unrelated to the subject being posted after it.
