What's wrong with Puerto Rican boxing?

I think it is poor trainers, guys seem to have decent skills but they are usually just flash as opposed to being grounded in fundamental boxing.
The prospects have talent but they just seem to squander it which is partly the fault of the fighter but I can't think of a quality Puerto Rican trainer that could get more out of these guys. So I am going to go with poor trainers being a major issue.

according to a few of the NSB stewards, PR boxers are failing to measure up because they're .... too busy plucking their eyebrows?
i mean really, how long can one really take tweezing his eyebrows?

The last trainer from Puerto Rico that even had a couple good guys going at the same time was Cotto's uncle back when he used to train Cotto, to my knowledge anyway.
To me that is a very obvious weak spot for Puerto Rico, I don't know why they have that problem but Cotto's current trainer the Cuban guy is setting up shop there and he seems pretty good.
