  • Comments Thread For: Peter Quillin Talks Golovkin, Targets Sergio Martinez

Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin is still celebrating his victory from this past Saturday night as he not only had a homecoming back to Brooklyn, NY, but also won his first world title against Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam.

When Quillin appeared on the most recent edition of BoxingScene’s official radio show The Boxing Lab, he was asked what his thoughts were on a potential fight with Gennady Golovkin who just had his HBO debut in September and looked like a human wrecking machine.

I like it, but the "Kid" must stop referring to himself in the third person immediately...if not sooner.

Listen to this...GGG needs to get his name up before he can face Quillin huh? So Quillin needs to get his name up before he can face Martinez. N'Dam N'Jikam is a warrior with the heart of a champion. I've never seen him on HBO before. GGG just splashed onto the scene on HBO so face him and earn your way up to Martinez. I heard that they ever jerked N'Dam N'Jikam out of his rematch. He wins a title and starts ducking right away. Ducking a rematch. Ducking GGG talking about he wants to fight Martinez. N1994 PLEASE...Quillin aint even from Brooklyn. He aint even from Grand Rapids. He's from Chicago. You are from where your birth certificate says you were born.

Good stuff Quillin, that's what the fans want to hear from a champ! Not like Garcia saying "Matthysse is just another tough guy". Or Alexander saying "Kell Brook who's that?"

          Kid Chocolate's the future.

This guy should be headlining any card with Cuban (non-english speaking) fighters. The perfect bridge between the American audience and the Cuban community.

Quillin still hasnt built his name as far as Im concerned. He has decent abilities, but as of right now he is seeming overrated. GGG Just started popping up and already people feel e is the real deal. Quillin is hype, GGG is small name, but the real deal. Both of them can fight now, and the winner gets SM.

Man, GGG and Quillin should fight, I don't think anybody's told Quillin yet, but he's unknown too. If two unknowns go in there and **** out a good fight, one of them is known and they can make a rematch out of it. I haven't watched Quillin yet, but I'm craving me some GGG

Get it on Kid Chocolate, don't be biiitch

i don't think quillin a bigger name than golovkin in boxing right now. golovkin has only fought on hbo and he already made more buzz than quillin's entire career. in terms of star potential, golovkin has clearly more. golovkin doesn't need to build his name more for this fight to happen...that sounds more like an excuse on quillin's part.
