Matthysse vs Alexander & Judah RBR!

Initially had Judah winning, upon rewatching it, I had Matthysse winning by a point. Had Mathysse beating Alexander by 2 points. The Judah fight is not a robbery though, Matthysse started way too slow in my opinion. All in all this has made Matthysse a better fighter, he no longer starts slow.

A Draw to me would have been fair also as there was some swing rounds. I didn't have any big issue with Zab getting it though for the same reason. The fight was close. Lucas was still kinda green and has fought much better since.
The Devon/Lucas fight to me felt rather one sided in Lucas's favor. I got a bitter feeling after that decision. I think I gave Devon like 5 rounds and one of those 5 could have went in Lucas's favor. So I either scored it with Lucas 3 or 5 points ahead. I cannot remember exactly though
I agree 100%.... Judah's in a good position right now though, I actually think he can land that big left uppercut against Garcia, more than once, will it be enough to keep Danny off of him though???

Judah vs Matthysse.
Round 1:
Zab coming forward with the jab, being the agressor. Lucas trying to box, occasionally lunging in and missing with the right hand, looking off balance. Zab showing some very good defensive moves. In between the jabs and defensive moves, Zab also lands a good right hook and straight left. Judah.
Round 2:
Closer round. Matthysse still lunging in but this time decides to stop head hunting and throw to the body which was successful. Both fighters were taking turns back the the other one up. Judah.
Round 3:
The only punch Judah landed can't win him the round. Matthysse won the round with good body punching and being more active. Matthysse.
Round 4:
Zab jabs Matthysse to death, blocks his body punches and shows good movement. Lands a good left at the end. Judah.
3-1 Judah.
Round 5:
Zab lands some good lefts, keeps jabbing and throws a good right hook this round. Matthysse doing good body punching but isn't landing anything significant. Judah.
Round 6:
Very good round for Matthysse, good body punching. Judah inactive. clearly Matthysse.
4-2 Judah.
Round 7:
Zab more active, used his jab again, threw good combinations but didn't land much power shots. Matthysse didn't do much but land one right hand. Judah.
5-2.
Round 8:
Zab outboxed Matthysse and landed several left hands, moved well. Matthysse missed a lot and went back to lunging in. Judah.
6-2.
Round 9:
Matthysse round for sure. Judah threw some jabs and moved around but was unsuccessful. Matthysse was very aggressive and landing some good body punches, he was more active. I don't know how Lederman gave that round to Judah but then again I don't how Lederman gives a lot of rounds to a lot fighters in a lot of fights. Matthysse.
6-3 Judah.
Round 10:
Matthysse knocked down Judah so it's 10-8. Judah fought back as well as he can but it wasn't enough. 10-8 Matthysse.
6-4 Judah. 95-94 Judah.
Round 11:
Matthysse very aggressive, Judah trying to survive and stay on his feet. Matthysse battered Judah. Good call on the slip that was clearly a push and no punch was landed. Mattthysse.
6-5. 104-104 Draw. Fight is on the table going in to the 12th round.
Round 12:
Zab outboxes Matthysse and makes him lunge and miss. Judah keeps the jab active and throws some combinations, lands some lefts. Matthysse lands some good body shots but misses too much.
7-5. 114-113 Zab Judah.
I hate that this fight is called a robbery. It was very close, but it was a legit win for Judah, he outboxed Matthysse, survived, and fought the last round. 7-5 Judah. Stop calling it a robbery.

he outboxed him! a saying so vague and devoid of any meaning which people constantly say. thanks for the details!
"who was landing the clean punches?"
"well the other guy was but he was landing all the punches while being outboxed!"
"oh ok makes sense......."

Why dont you try watching the fight with the sound off, better yet just watch round's 7 and 9 with the sound off and tell me that you honestly gave those round's to Judah.

I just rewatched Judah vs Matthysse, I don't see how you can give Judah any of the last 4 rounds and one of them was a 10-8 round
This fight wasn't close, except for the first 8 rounds and even then I had it 5-3 Lucas
My RBR
1 10 - 9 Judah
2 10 - 9 Matthysse (Judah threw almost exclusively jabs the entire round, he missed a counter left uppercut with about :50 left in the rd, and tried to end the round with a straight left which missed)
3 10 - 9 Matthysse
4 10 - 9 Judah
5 10 - 9 Matthysse
6 10 - 9 Matthysse
7 10 - 9 Matthysse
8 10 - 9 Judah
9 - 12: Matthysse
yeah this was a robberyLast edited by joesaiditstrue; 10-27-2012, 04:34 AM.

I don't see how there's an argument about round 9. Judah didn't do sh** besides get punched. A few flicking jabs don't win a round when you are getting hit by all the best punches.

Round 1: Judah. Landed the best punch in a feel-out round. LOL at the immediate nuthugging by the HBO crew towards Judah.
Round 2: Matthysse. About half a dozen good body shots.
Round 3: Matthysse. Judah landed two good punches, but Matthysse landed good shots to the body again and controlled the action.
Round 4: Judah. Close round, but a few Judah jabs and the left at the end of the round wins it.
Round 5: Judah. Basically an even round, but I give it to Judah because he was landing good to the head rather than decent to the body. Also, Roy has called Judah "Floyd" two or three times now.
Round 6: Matthysse. Simply a busier fighter. When the busier fighter is landing more, he has to get the round.
Round 7: Even. I hate giving even rounds, but both landed one good shot and fought even otherwise.
Round 8: Judah. By far his best round to this point.
Round 9: Matthysse. Lots of good work, little in return from Judah.
Round 10: Matthysse 10-8 because of the KD. That first body punch to open the round nearly bent Judah in half, damn. The ref really pissed me off in this round.
Round 11: Matthysse. Dominant round again. HBO's focus on Matthysse's stamina is very funny at this point.
Round 12: Matthysse. Judah tried his best to spoil, but Matthysse's punches were obviously more effective.
Matthysse 7-4-1. Not as close as I remember it. I can still see how Judah got the decision, if he got a couple of the close rounds I didn't give him. Matthysse deserved it more IMO. Not a robbery, but a little bit of a gift.
