Mayweather isn't getting any younger, He has been boxing since he was very young, So yeah Canelo has a very very good chance at beating him, He isn't as competitive as he use to be, he is definitely slowing down and doesn't fight that often, for me Canelo is probably one fight away from beating Mayweather.

if you think SRL won, well most people did. obviously, in a close fight all of us are more likely to think our guy won. and , I hate SRL with a passion, so i am definitely biased regarding that fight. but I never said hagler got robbed.

if you say castillo may have won a close fight, ok. but to call it a robbery, like sweet pea ramirez or IMO mannyibradley, well then you clearly have an agenda.
not really it doesn't "clearly" mean he has an agenda know it all. it depends on how you define robbery. If you think a guy should have won a fight and he lost it's a robbery even if you thought he only won by 1 round. if you think 1 guy won a fight close or not, even by 1 punch and he didn't get the decision it was a robbery.doesn't matter how much you think he won it by. love how you try to define as;ll things boxing though like everyone is supposed to go by that.

Yes, when you try and compare Floyd to Sugar Ray Robinson with wins against those fighters, at those particular moments in their career, not a good move. Those fights on their own merit are fine. Although post Corralles, those fights were very well strategized, AKA cherry picked.

At this moment in time. I won't complain about this fight, before it happens, or even after it happens. There won't be any strings attached with this fight. Although many posters will say he's green, not tested, etc. I will give him total, full, complete credit for this fight.
I never mentioned Ray Robinson. . . . Are you saying here that in order to be respected Mayweather has to be comparable to Sugar Ray? Because if you are, you have just compared them by naming them in the same sentence. So however begrudgingly you have just paid Mayweather the highest respect that there is in this sport. You already respect the man, but you also resent him, so you don't want to give it up.

I've been thinking about this. And I was actually surprised Guerrero-Berto was made on such a short notice. It would seem that Floyd turned down the Canelo fight GBP was offering. So I won't be surprised if Floyd takes on Guerrero/Berto winner for his next fight.

Haha, nice try. That was merely an over exaggerated example. What I should have said was, Floyd's fans act as if those fights were the most credible, and challenging at the time. Theirs always a "BUT", with Floyd's fans. I give him all the credit in the world pre WW. WW, is where I have a problem with him.

Look, I'm not a Floyd hater. I was his biggest fan before he retired. Then the Floyd stans started popping up, and he got raised to mythical type levels. Same reason why I can't be a Kobe fan anymore. His rabid fans would make you believe he's better than Jordan/Kareem/Wilt/Magic/bird combined. Same applies to Floyd's rabid fans.

My honest feeling is this. Flame away Floydiots. From Gatti and beyond. He's never had a fight that hasn't had a "why the **** you fighting this guy!?" moment. Or a "okay he's fighting him now, but his next fight will be FOR REAL!" moment. I KNOW I'm not the only one that thinks this.

Remember folks hind sight is 20/20.......

It doesn't matter what you should have said, it's what you did say that matters. Your yardstick for judging Floyd is Sugar Ray Robinson. That is how highly you regard him.

I can understand why you resent the man. You probably thought (quite rightly) that Corrales would at least give him a fight, maybe even beat this arrogant braggart who has very few redeeming qualities. Then you witnessed Diego's ass hitting the canvas on no less than five occasions. When he slaughtered Arturo Gatti, you probably felt sick, it was that inhumane. When he beat Marquez you'd had enough, it was like watching a spiteful child pull the legs off a spider. "I wont abide bearing witness to this man spanking another boxing legend" you may well have said to yourself. Then he went right on and did it again, to a Sugar Shane Mosley who had just handed Antonio Margarito a beating.

I understand. You tune in hoping for a boxing contest and all you get is another Mayweather master-class. Exhibition bouts where he belittles world champions and future Hall Of Famers. Makes them look like they've barely ever laced up the gloves. It's not nice to watch, especially when watching those men ply their trade has given you so much pleasure. I don't blame you for resenting the man. I once resented him too.

I agree. That would be impressive to me.
