Khan is a good boxer but was being sold as a great one and never had the makings to live up to the hype. In real terms he has never been an elite fighter and never will be but he is a media creation that has made and will continue to make a lot of money. Although I suspect a lot of it has been diverted to Team Khan.
Is Amir Khan a has been?? or a never was??

stop....stop......you had me at Malignaggi.........you had me at Malignaggi...........Khan fought brilliantly against Malignaggi and Kotelnik, I gave him a ton of credit for that. It's his struggles against Maidana that showed me he wasn't anything special, then the fact that he continued to to enter the ring with the same defensive holes that almost got him killed against Maidana, that pretty much sealed it for me. I doubt Hunter can help him, Khan's issue is his stubbornness and ego. He thinks he's skilled enough to overwhelm every fighter with his speed

IMO, he is a talented fighter that got too much attention too soon... the expectations and his own hype ended up taking him down.
the kid has got amazing combination punching and punch output, great handspeed, and heart.... the 3 losses were "learn from" losses.
• prescott was a wake up call... he learned from this and formed a great win streak after
• peterson was close... so i dont knock him for this loss
• garcia was another wake up all... he was handily outboxing the guy but got careless.
i think amir is neither a has-been or never-was.... he falls in-between. lets see how he bounces back....Comment
