Let's be honest, Maidana's claim to fame was the Ortiz fight. He made Ortiz quit which turned out to be very common with Victor. He didn't KO Victor like Pac Ko'd Hatton. Victor told the ref no mas.

Also, where was all this power from Maidana in his MD victory over Morales and UD victory over Chop Chop Corely? What about Kotylnyk?

I think Maidana is very exciting, but his TKO/quit over Ortiz is giving him and his power to much credit. Yes, he hurt Khan, but didn't have the power to finish him. That makes sense because he didn't have the power to finish the above 3 guys I mentioned also. Don't get me wrong, I like Maidana and think he's exciting, but you can only live off making Victor Ortiz quit for so long.

khan also didnt just stand in the middle of the ring and refuse to move or put up any defense against maidana like he did with danny. even after the knockdown, khan kept trying to trade. after maidana tagged him with that one punch, khan ran for the next 3 rounds until the end of the fight. if he had, maidana woulda gotten khan outta there. no doubt about that.

when khan was moving around and boxing, he was picking garcia apart, cut him in like a round and a half. then he got all ****** and by HIS OWN ADMISSION, he just stood there trying to brawl when he does not have the ability to do that.

Same can be said about Mathysse. Who did he KO? He coudn't get Judah out of there who Khan beat down or Alexander. Where is this mythical power Matthysse has? Or this skill he possess when he let Judah off the hook? To me, Garcia is a fighter that will continue to get better and rise. Mathysse is good but he had two big chances to make a statement and he made it too close to get the nod because he wasn't on the same level name wise as is past opponents "Zab Judah" and "Devon Alexander". What has Mathysse done other than KO a guy who hasn't even fought or beat the opponents Garcia has beat. By KO at that. Give Garcia some credit. Anything can happen in the ring but in my opinion, Mathysse hasn't done anything to make him this top feared guy in the division.

When a boxer assumes that another fighter aint as good as people make him out to be, and dismisses him like ill beat him, what hes really saying is I dont want nothing to do with that guy. Then on top of that he wont dare mention Rios name, and dont tell me it becuse Rios ant no good, it becuse he knows he wont last.

Lucas shouldn't have the 2 "losses" he has
and still, who cares? he'd kick Garcia and his dad's asses
Zab went 12 rounds with the guy who might be considered "The best at 140", and let Zab get the decisicion, what does that say about Matthysse.

Maidana had Khan on the ropes wailing on Amir but Khan still was up on his feet. Garcia blasted Khan and dropped him 4 times. Sure Khan had early success but the out come is Garcia annihilated him. Peterson went to war with Khan and he is supposed to be a beast while Garcia put Khan out in 4. Other than Prescott early in his career. Who has whupped Khan that bad? Weak chin and all?

Lucas got robbed in that fight
it was close, but clear in his favor
he took either 6 or 7 rds with a KD, he rightfully won
that wasn't a top showing by him, but it shoulda been a win

Khan ran because Maidana followed him, he fought Danny because Danny cut the ring off, Maidana isn't a smart fighter, that's why he didn't finish Khan.

but let's not forget that Amir Khan didn't have Alex Ariza for the Danny Garcia fight.

Matthysse is the mandatory for the WBC belt that's enough to earn him a shot.
