funny he says mathyssee is just a regular fighter because to me that what garcia seems to be,just a regular fighter who ko'd an old fighter and was losing to khan until he closed his eyes and threw a punch on khans temple.

One more awful comment like that buddy and I'm reporting you. LMAO! Are you telling me their hasn't been a fighter in history to be hurt and come back and stop his opponent? Hmmm, let's see! Trinidad stopped Campas after he was dropped and hurt in the 3rd round. Hmmm, who else? Bowe stopped Holyfield in their 3rd fight after being seriously hurt in the 6th round of that fight. Who else? Hmmm, Vincent Pettway knocked out (literally) Simon Brown after he was dropped in the previous round. WTF are you talking about? And watch the fight again buddy, Soto hurt Lucas. If you had any kind of eye for boxing you would have noticed that. Tell me this, did you watch Mayweather/Cotto? In waht round did Cotto hurt Mayweather and didn't realize he had done so? Don't worry I'll wait. This will let me know if you have an eye for boxing...
What you guys don't realize is Garcia barely beat Kendall Holt; so Holt was able to walk through those left hands. Nate Campbell also took those left hands very well. In the same breath, Garcia has vastly improved since those fights.
Just as Garcia, Mathysse has improved since the Judah and Alexander fights and is making mental points before the bouts not to leave the fight in the judges hands.
Now let's assess the situation. Does Mathysse have a better chin than Morales and Khan? I think so. Heck, Holt and Campbell made it. I don't think Garcia is some knockout king. I think he's very good at timing his punches and he does have a lot of power. But I don't think his power would carry over like a few people think it would against someone with a proven chin like Mathysse or Rios. If it does, then we should anoint Garcia as the KO king, but until then, we might as well call Breidis Prescott the KO king also, but instead he KO'd Khan worse than Garcia did.
Point is, both fighters have vastly improved since their bouts with Holt/Campbell/Judah/Alexander. But if we're going off each fighters most significant wins, I don't think a TKO over Khan and KO over Morales means Garcia can hurt Mathysse because like I said, Campbell and Holt took same those shots just fine.

Very well put. Couldn't have said it any better myself. That's why I'm mystified at this Garcia praise like he's the new bone collector of 140. What was he doing before he TKO'd china chinned Khan??Last edited by timboslice708; 10-21-2012, 05:07 PM.

His timing nullified the speed of both Judah and Alexander - two guys just as, or faster than Garcia, so he knows how to deal with fast guys.
I doubt we see the fight though. Very high risk for Danny after destroying the Mexican legend, and very little reward in fighting the most dangerous guy in the division who is really only known to the hardcores of the sport, despite 3 or 4 appearances on HBO/Showtime.
