Yes, Morales, as well as every other boxer almost certainly consumed a high protein diet; the main source of that protein is usually animal products. . .

Flank steaks are a very popular food in Mexico. They are lean for red meat, full of protein, and also naturally produce more creatine.

I think it's very believable that Morales was consuming at least one flank steak per day.

Do not confuse this with me saying I think that's what caused the test. I'm simply saying it's highly likely he was eating a lot of steaks.

But it is a fact that Sergio Martinez was 15 pounds over the weight limit at the 30 day weigh-in for the Chavez fight. . ANd it is a fact that he was eating a big steak 2 weeks out from the fight (24/7).

It is also a fact that flank steak is a great source of protein, and is carb-free. Coupled with other foods, it's a great addition to a restricted carb diet high in protein, essential for cutting weight. People think steaks are bad because they have fat. Flank steak cuts are lean cuts of red meat, and the fat they have is essential to help fuel a boxer through his workouts.

So, yes, it was an assumption that Morales was eating a lot of steaks. But it's an assumption based on facts, thus buttressing the assumption, and raising the probability of it being true.
