Wow, people around here like to point out on fighters without having facts. The contaminated sample did not call the attention of the experts to call out the fight because they know what can cause the irregularities. But the keyboard experts, mostly teens and unemployed internet warriors, crucified the guys.

I think you guys have to be a bit objective and wait for the B samples. Not so long ago a good number of Mexico's national soccer team members tested positive for the same thing and again Mexico's meat was also the suspect and eventually the culprit. It was a small trace but it was still detected.

Shit If I get tested today I'm going to test positive for clembuterol and I not even in fighting shape.

one guy is a hall of famer and one of the most beloved fighters of his generation

the other got seven figures to fight bums on hbo for years.
you've got to expect that the reactions to be different.

the way i've done with all of the others, i'll wait for the facts. it doesn't bode well, considering his problems with weight in the past.

It does not make sense that morales being so long in the game would think that he could get away with it. Especially with all the people geting caught. Plus, why risk it at the end of your career and possibly tarnish your achievements in the long run.

Just a year ago FIFA declared 109 soccer players tested positive for clenbutorol during the under 17 world cup. The cynics will say its just a mexican trying to justify another mexican, but im simply not trying jump to conclusions.

I agree somewhat. At this point I'm very skeptical of Morales' claims, due to his problems with weight in the past.

However, it's a known fact that the hormones, and steroids farm-factory type animals raised for strictly slaughter, and meat production, can infect humans, and it can "carry over" to humans who consume their meat.

Until B sample is tested, I won't make judgment. Berto tested positve in both samples, I'm pretty sure.

Let's look at a few facts: 1.) Morales likely was eating a lot of flank steaks. The extra fat sound in steaks, and red meat as opposed to poultry, would be essential in fueling his workouts, while on a restricted carb diet to lose weight. Remember how Sergio Martinez feasted on a giant steaks? And he was 15 poudns over at the 30-day weigh-in. Just for those who say "you don't eat steaks" when trying to lose weight. . . That's rubbish.

2.) On the other hand, Morales does have a lot of concentrated body fat, and has struggled greatly with weight since his comeback.

3.) These drug tests are VEry sensitive, and correct me if I'm wrong, because i'm not 100% certian, but I don't think these tests have "threshold cutoff levels." In that, they will detect the slightest traces of metabolies of the drug in your urine. An example: We all know you can test positive for eating poppy seeds, or form second hand smoke, etc. However, some of the drug tests out there now have threshold cutoff levels to rule out any of these reasons. NOTE: On mythbusters, the drug tests they took did not have the cutoff levels, so that's why they tested positive for opiates from eating poppy cakes.

In conclusion: Let's wait until his B sample comes back. . If it comes back positive, it's a telltale sign he intentionally, and knowingly ingested the PED. If negative, well, it's very likely he did simply have traces of the metabolite from contaminated meat, or other source.

Hmm, I don't really think this factors in. Guys with long, hall of fame worthy careers have doped up before, especially at the tail-end of their careers. He kknows this is likely his last shot to remain relevant at the true world class level. . . It's a hard thing to deal with knowing you've lost a step.

If Morales did knowingly, and intentionally take this PED, I think he honestly thought it wasn't cheating, and it was just something that would assist him with making weight, rather than being an actual "in the ring PED." Although of course we know it's all the same: Making weight easier = better performance in the ring; stronger, stamina, etc. . But I think in his head he honestly either didn't know it was banned, or just told himself he's old, and his body can't naturally cut weight ilke it used to.

Of course, like I have been saying, I still think it might have been just contaminated meat. Mexico probably has very little regulations on what type of steroids/hormones can be fed to cattle raised for food. I'm going to wait for the B sample.
