berto got over a mil to fight some bum on hbo not too long ago.
i mean look at guerrero, how long has he been the mandatory challenger to mayweather? not got him anywhere has it.Comment

I think so. Mayweather had already highly considered Berto before his loss to Ortiz, and Guerrero has been relentlessly calling him out forever. I absolutely think the winner of this fight wins the Mayweather Sweepstakes. Not the fight though. They both lose the fight.Comment

Well considering Mayweather-Martinez will never happen and really doesn't HAVE TO happen, and that the main fight that HAS TO HAPPEN probably won't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Floyd fight the winner. Canelo hasn't done anything to warrant the Floyd fight yet, Garcia needs 1-2 more good wins against Matthysse/Alexander type fighters first, so Guerrero/Berto makes sense.I think so. It's more legit than fighting Rios or Maidana.Comment

I have now finally accepted that I will never see the Pac v. May - a fight that couldve/wouldve been our generation's version of Leonard v. Hearns. Arum already lining up Pac's opponent for April - and I think theres a good chance Marquez beats him anyway.
Now, it's looking pretty clear that If Guererro wins, hes fightn Mayweather in May 2013. It's obvious that neither Mayweather or Arum want the fight. And, I will continue to boycott their events. IT's plain as day that neither care one bit what the fans want, and only about GREED - Mayweather takin fights he knows he'l win for 40 mil and Arum refusing to match PAc against anyone not promoted/aligned with TR. disgraceful!Comment

why accept that Mayweather-Martinez will never happen and that Pac-Mayweather will never happen. ONe of the reasons it doesnt happen is bc most boxing fans will purchase anything to see a great fighter - and mayweather knows that. so he'l take fights against fighters that are worthy challengers - but not the toughest challenges - and he's been doin it for years. and its pretty pathetic bc he wouldve beaten most/all the fighters he ducked and couldve went down as one of the greatest ever. Only in his mond is he one of the greatest ever - he's top 50 - not much better considering all the missed opportunitiesWell considering Mayweather-Martinez will never happen and really doesn't HAVE TO happen, and that the main fight that HAS TO HAPPEN probably won't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Floyd fight the winner. hes been the mandatory for 3 months i think. It was after he beat the number 1 contender Aydil in July. Anyway the winner of this fight be becones a top 5 mayve even top 3 ranking and i have no problem with winner fighting Floyd.Comment

it makes no sense how someone could say they have no problem with floyd facing the winner of this fight. would the winner be a legit option if Floyd fought everyone else - yeah. but, considering he'd make double-triple to fight Pacquiao with 55% of the revenue; or close to double with 80% of the revenue v. Martinez who has said he'd fight at '54, the weight Floyd just fuoght at - shows there are 2 options that are better and would make floyd more $. Obviously all floyd cares about is to continue to make 40 mil per fight against guys that have very little chance to beat him - as opposed to taking a challenge and actually making more $Comment

ah right, i thought it was longer than that. i have a problem with the winner fighting floyd. its 2nd best all over again. there are 2 fights and 2 fights only for mayweather imo. pacquiao and martinez. anything else doesnt mean much, to me at least anyway.Comment
