    Junior featherweight titleholder Guillermo Rigondeaux’s decision last weekend to remain with promoter Top Rank was partially motivated by the company's ability to make a bout with 122-pound king Nonito Donaire, according to the fighter’s manager, Gary Hyde.

    “I am very happy with Top Rank's new deal for Rigondeaux and the promise of a fight against Donaire in the next three fights was definitely a major factor in signing with Top Rank,” the Ireland-based Hyde told BoxingScene.com via email. “He is looking to get in the ring with Donaire and [Abner] Mares as soon as they are willing to fight him.” [Click Here To Read More]

      rigo vs donaire make it happen. Rigondeux need to fight darchinyan or agbeko and not just wait for the donaire fight.

              No surprise. A date with Donaire is what many of us figured got Rigo to re-up with 'ol Bob. Let's hope it wasn't an empty promise.

                          Donaire doesn't want it, he's already thinking about moving up.
                          Too bad Rigo is willing to go up to fight him.
                          IMO, Rigo should move up, grab a belt and wait for him

                                  If its in the contract that Donaire has to fight him within the next 3 fights and Donaire doesn't then Bob will be in breach of contract no? Unless a specific weight wasn't agreed on (I hope Hyde is smarter than this). Then Donaire would move up to 126 and Rigo would have to chase him. Rigo is too small for 126 and IMO a small 122 lber too.
