Answer this, what has Mathebula and Vazquez done to prove themselves? Where was Mathebula's fanbase? His only fan at his fight was his tribe's chief.
because those fights were low risk, low reward. but rigo would be high risk, low reward. see the difference? why fight a highly skilled guy like rigo if no average fans even know who he is?

here is what should happen. donaire should fight the winner of mares-moreno. rigo should fight the loser. if donaire and rigo both win those fights, them fighting each other would be a big enough fight worth the risk of making.

Most boxing fans know who he is. Max Kellerman mentions him in damn near every broadcast.

they might have heard his name, but they aren't fans of him. they haven't seen him. don't get me wrong i want to see the fight, rigo is a really good fighter. i just think rigo should first beat one of the top guys in division to show he is ready to face the best.

but at the same time, i can see why right now it isn't a very appealing fight, at least from a business point of view. again its high risk, low money reward, and low legacy building reward (rigo has no resume yet).

But people have heard of Mathebula? Roy Jones couldn't even say his name.
Rigo's resume is better than Mathebulas, better than WV2's, so what is the problem?

How come Rigo needs to get bigger names when they didn't?

            because he has 11 fights!!!

has the thought occurred to you that maybe arum wants to build up rigondeaux into a future star?

There's a reason why floyd became a star under arum. There's a reason why oscar became a star under arum. There's a reason why cotto became a star under arum. There's a reason why Pacquiao became a star under arum.

TOP RANK KNOWS WTF ITS DOING.

There's a reason why GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS HAS YET TO PRODUCE A YOUNG PROSPECT INTO A ALL STAR BOXER.

Top Rank knows how to develop guys from beginner to star boxer.

There's a reason why their match maker bruce trampler is going to the hall of fame.

THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Rigo as 11 fights. The mainstream doesnt know who he is. Yes, the mainstream dont know who mathebula or Vasquez jr is but they are not being groomed to be a future star. Rigo has great potential. Why ruin that potential by putting him in with the wolves when he only has 11 fights?

There's a reason why hardcore fans are hardcore fans. Not boxing promoters who have to think of business consequences and future planning of a fighter.

They know how to properly build a fighter. You dont.

Come on, you can't say Rigo has no chance. He's one of the most skilled fighters in boxing so of course he has a chance, but I see Donaire catching him and stopping him late.

LOL because they've been fighting the same caliber of opponents right? And Donaire's last 4 opponents fought scared but he still found a way to hurt or drop them.

No. He has over 400 fights. Rigo is not a young prospect, he is 32 years old.

Why the hell would Arum let Donaire end Rigo's career after only 11 fights? Rigo has proved NOTHING in terms of being able to handle a fighter of donaire's caliber in the pros, WITHOUT headgear and pillow gloves. Rigo would be thrown to the wolves indeed, and Arum loses his investment.

These emotional rigotards obviously understand nothing about the business side of boxing.
