Donaire fought Narvaez after he starched the #1 BW Montiel, that was a stay busy fight, against an undefeated 2 division champ.

WV2 was Donaire's first fight at 122 and he's better than anybody Rigo beat.

Mathebula probably fought for short money. Easy title grab (on paper).

What has Vazquez Jr ever done??? Ramos may have been losing wide to Shimoda, but he did end up stopping Shimoda in 6 rounds. That's far and away better than anything Vazquez has done. And at least Cordoba was Top 10 and had beaten Caballero, and should have gotten the W's over Sydorenko.

Narvaez did NOT belong at 118 fighting for a title. Mathebula at least beat Ndlovu and had a close fight with Caballero.

But you can't justify fighting Narvaez, Vazquez Jr, and Mathebula, than justify not fighting Rigondeaux too.

Rigo as 11 fights. The mainstream doesnt know who he is. Yes, the mainstream dont know who mathebula or Vasquez jr is but they are not being groomed to be a future star. Rigo has great potential. Why ruin that potential by putting him in with the wolves when he only has 11 fights?

There's a reason why hardcore fans are hardcore fans. Not boxing promoters who have to think of business consequences and future planning of a fighter.

They know how to properly build a fighter. You dont.

They are not building Rigo career. You dont put a guy with 3 pro fights against a guy with 60 + fights if you dont believe the guy has the tools. Most prospects fight Beranza when they are into their 15 fight. Not the case with Rigo. They know he can compete with the best of the weight class, and that list includes Nonito. By now this fight was consulted to Bruce Tampler and I bet that he advise Bob not to make it because Rigo is going to beat him.

Nonito is pretty good. He is fast. He has decent power. But the guy is there waiting to unload that left all fight long. He dont want to take risks. WV2 was a guy with no AM experience, beat a 115 Sonsona for the title and defended against a cab driver. A 36 yr old Nishioka, with a year off, and coming from a fight against past his best Marquez is not something to get excited about. He needs to fight Rigo to prove he is the best. Rigo skills alone combine with his record at 122 is more than anything done by WV2, Mathebula, Mares and Moreno at 122.

Rigo HAS fought a couple relevant 122lbers, but he hasn't fought enough. He won't be able to make up for lost time. Marroquin was a decent opponent, but he was a prospect at the end of the day. Arum isn't doing him any favors by putting him in with those kinds of opponents. Who is it gonna be next...Jesse Magdaleno??
