How is Rigo a nobody? If he is a nobody then Mathebula is a nobody as well as Narvaez. Didn't stop Donaire from fighting those guys did it? Oh I get it..... those guys weren't actually a threat were they? At least that's how Donaire saw it....not a threat so worth the risk. But with Rigo... Donaire does see the risk. Makes sense to me. Still a ducking move though.Impressive to whom?
Rigo isn't known and IF Donaire gets beat by a "nobody" then where would Donaire's career be heading?
I agree, as a spectator it can be pretty frustrating that he brushes Rigo off like that but I can also understand why - from a business point of view. Donaire doesn't have anything significant to gain but almost everything to lose with that fight.
With that said, I don't think Rigo can handle Donaire's style or size. I think Donaire wins by a UDComment

He just beat the #1 ranked fighter in the division, but he's going after easy fights.

Keep hating. I really hope Donaire fights the Mares/Moreno winner, because the hate from this site will be outstanding.Comment

It was a clear duck. He went from"I'll fight who ever wants it line them up" to "I'm not excited about him" in a split second. I hate to bring Floyd up but this is the **** he started.Comment

I like Nonito but this is a straight up clear as day duck. Rigo is too high risk for what he perceives as little reward. The hardcore fans would give him mad props if he beat Rigo but his unwillingness is effecting his rep big time. Shame.Comment

Donaire needs fights that are going to allow him to become a mainstream fighter and showcase his skills in exciting fashion. His last 2-3 opponents came into the ring in full survival mode and took very few chances. Although the extreme diehard fans may feel that Rigo is some great boxer, the fact of the matter is, he's only had 11 pro fights and has zero exposure nor is he known to any casual fan. You can say the same for Narvaez and Mathebula, but at least Narvaez had 36 wins with 0 losses under his belt while Mathebula had a huge size advantage over Donaire and at least had a notable name on his resume in Celestino. If Rigo wants the fight, let him make some noise and beat someone of note. Nonito has beaten top tier caliber fighers in Darchinan, Montiel, and Vasquez Jr. The last thing Rigo did that was of note was win Gold nearly 9yrs ago at the Olympics.Comment

you have people right now on about "how does rios deserve a match vs pacquiao", a pacquiao that most of these guys think is outside the top 5 p4p, now look at rigondeaux who hasn't done sht, he gets a shot at a top 5 p4p'er, for what? "oh he was a good amatuer", time and time again it has been shown that being a good amatuer is not the same as being a good pro, and honestly, rigo looks like a ko waiting to happen
let rigo build himself, he has 11 ****ing fights for ****sakeComment
