Great fight but the ending was kind of a letdown not bcse the ref he was in the right Alavardo was done and was unable to protect himself he'd only have taken more flush shots til he crumbled but bcse he couldn't recover the first time he got hurt he got finished that's were the other legenadry fights have there mark due to great comebacks but this wasn't going to be one of them

I think it was a good call. I was rooting for Alvarado so was hoping he would take a knee, as you could see the ref was going to call it any second.

In terms of two Mexican warriors fighting each other, yes it was premature. He could have easily continued.

In terms of boxing, no. He took like 5 or 6 power shots that most other fighters would have went down on.

Rios was gonna unload some hurt on Alvarado. I wish we could have seen more but then again...at what cost. Rios was gonna finish him brutally!

It is for when a guy gets hit dizzy away from the ropes and stumbles back in to the ropes
Actually, in 10 round fights it is... also, he fell into the ropes and would have gone down without them, which is another reason to call a standing 8.

He was already on the ropes when he got knocked thats not a knockdown or standing 8 count, even if ropes are holding him up.

He has too get knocked on to the ropes see the Jones vs Toney KD.
