he didn't go limp. He looked at the ref expecting a standing 8 count, then he put his hands back up.

Alvarado was hurt and hadn't thrown a punch in about 10 seconds its that simple. It was a fine stoppage.

I'll never forget the time a couple of years ago when Arum stood next to Rios pushing him as an opponent for Pacquiao....without even mentioning Mayweather.

That's what happened here...why haven't you people learned?...Pat Russell was LOOKING for a Rios stoppage....no doubt about it.

Yeah...Alvarado was hurt and probably would have been stopped sooner or later, but this was the same old Top Rank Team Pacquiao predetermined matchmaking bull****...

The winner of Pac-Marq will face Rios...it all depends on who Arum wants to throw under the bus...

You are confused about the standing 8.
It is not for a guy who get hit dizzy while already up against the ropes.
It is for when a guy gets hit dizzy away from the ropes and stumbles back in to the ropes

What I meant was that Alvarado would have went down but the ropes held him up. Which means the ref should have called it a kd.

He was ****ed. Thank God the ref stepped in. he was a sitting duck, and couldnt defend himself.

                Amazing fight.

it was a good stopage. as far as a standing 8 count goes, why would alvarado be looking to the ref for the count? he should have took a knee; if so, all of this discussion about premature stoppage wouldn't be relevant.

I thought it was prematurely stopped. However, I respect the Refs call.
