I think whether or not Mares wins or loses, he'll rematch Darchinyan early next Spring to set that straight and beat him clearly this time.

I think Donaire could end up fighting Rigondeaux, because I doubt Top Rank would make Donaire-Moreno, if Moreno in fact beats Mares.

If Darch clips that glass chin of Rigo's, say bye bye to Rigo. Average punching Merroquin had Rigo in bad trouble a number of times. Better hope Rigo can protect his weak chin.

As a huge Rigondeaux fan, I am a bit concerned because he not like to get hit. He has a very uneasy chin, which is the only reason I'd favor Donaire over him right now. I still think Donaire throws too many wide shots and leaves himself open to way too many Rigo left hands. But Rigondeaux's chin has me worried.

Rigo was never in any trouble. You mean when Rigo did his Ali shuffle and he got rocked...that was part of the Ali shuffle move , that's wasn't because he got hurt. Watch it again if you can or if you're up to it post it here and we can debate it.

i think rigondeaux needs a fight like this,he hasn't faced a good fighter, top fighter yet,and although i still feel this isn't vic's weight,it's still a good name for rigondeaux to have on his list,i think he needs these fights to earn fights against mares and donaire who already faced vic, they have faced name fighters,ex champions and current champions, they are tested and deserve big fights, they have earned it

donaire hits hard and is fast, once a fighter feels the power their strategy changes, their mindset(atleast some do) changes, donaire isn't going to land a good shot and kind of wobble you and not jump on you like this marroquin guy who really never attacked or nothing, donaire has a lot of experience and is a strong fighter,i hope they do face each other next year though

Rigondeaux is not the one trying to Duck and Cherry Pick...MAKE IT HAPPEN! I am sure if he wouldn't have a problem taking that fight, the contenders in the Division is suppose to want to fight the best in his DIVISION so all this BS about "NAME DROPPING"...aren't the contenders suppose to want to fight the fighters who are considered "THE BEST"

Then when fighters fight all Bums and don't try to fight the best then we complain about their level of competition

Only fighter I worry about in and around Rigondeaux Division is probably Chemito Moreno...the rest...no worries!

I'd favor Rigondeaux to beat everyone except Donaire and Moreno, and Mares is 50-50. Rigondeaux seems to not like getting hit and has a very uneasy chin. I mean Marroquin is a solid puncher but by no means a huge puncher, and he stunned Rigondeaux a couple times in that fight.

I still feel Donaire leaves hmself open to way too many left hands from Rigondeaux and could get tagged and countered a ton. But if Donaire lands flush on Rigo, his chin has me worried. That's the only reason I'd be worried big time against Donaire or Mares.

The two times olimpic gold medalist , two times amateur world champ , 6 times cuban national champ , wba interim and regular champ , guillermo "el chacal " rigondeaux , beats everyone at 122 .

Rigo will get darchinian open , darc is too wide , no power at all at 122 , is a brawler. Rigo , who is a counterdefensive , slick boxer , will take darc to school . I bet rigo knocks darc many times in this figth . Go with a tko. But is a good fight though , rigo beats all these guys .and for those talking about chin , so far rigo did not go to the canvas , he got hit but didnt go down .and when he was , he was bored with marroquin the first time , and in the second time , he was doing ali stuff , he was playing with this kid . Ja ja ja .

When rigo got hit in the cordova fight , he was unbalanced , it was a jab . Go to you tube and watch it , it was in the 6 round... But also watch the 4 , where rigo shots a wonderful body shot and sends cordova to the canvas .... That was w real knock down.

Riggo was fighting sloppy against Marroquin and he still did amazing things in there...Riggo will beat darchinyan here. Darch's best chance would be to smother him wildly and land the hard lefts - If Darch' tries to box Riggo, he will be KO'd or beaten swollen after a 12th round loss. Darch doesn't have the cat-like ring composure like Riggo does. Darch has a skillful puncher's chance in this fight basically. would love to see this - good cluster of top rated talent in this weight-class-
