Great piece of writing by Thomas Hauser

"On August 16, 2008, a young man named Ronnie Vargas was shot to death. Vargas was a promising young fighter; a three-time New York Golden Gloves champion with an 8-and-0 professional record.

Four days later, Paulie visited the Ortiz Funeral Home in the Bronx (where the family was sitting) and gave his IBF championship belt to Vargas’s father so Ronnie could be buried as a champion.

Current- Cotto, never in a boring fight, allot of heart, silent killer doesn't trash talk & gets right to business everytime he steps in the ring.
JMM- does so much with his skill high boxing IQ with very little physical advantages over his opponents. A true master of the sweet science & always puts on a great performance & a professional in & out the ring Cotto is as well.

Prior to that it was Jones... and Taylor (Jermaine). Jones was a freak of an athlete, oozed confidence and was just a pleasure to watch in the ring. Jermaine Taylor was also a tremendous athlete, humble, and I enjoyed watching him fight... he was gifted but he tended to gas in later rounds which ultimately made him take some punishment and cause him take a break.

Anyhow that's my opinion, take it for what it's worth.
Just watched Taylor's fight against Sturm the other day. He was good early on and his prime gets underrated now days. Hasnt been the same since getting knocked out and its a shame.

And you know what's so great about it? There's no photos. No video. He didn't bring a TV crew or announce it on his twitter as some self-serving tool to promote himself.
You expressed your admiration for your favorite fighter quite well. But this...this is...awesome.
