This is my first post so I thought I'd post a thread about something we can all talk about
Who's your favorite fighter and why?

I'll probably get bashed for this but I'll say currently right NOW... it'd be Floyd Mayweather. His work ethic and dedication to the sport are like no other in the game. To me it's something impressive and something to look up to... that kind of dedication. His ability to adjust and dominate in fights is something else. His marketing persona is top notch and it's entertaining to watch him hype a fight, regardless of how you know the fights going to go.
Prior to that it was Jones... and Taylor (Jermaine). Jones was a freak of an athlete, oozed confidence and was just a pleasure to watch in the ring. Jermaine Taylor was also a tremendous athlete, humble, and I enjoyed watching him fight... he was gifted but he tended to gas in later rounds which ultimately made him take some punishment and cause him take a break.
Anyhow that's my opinion, take it for what it's worth. -

Miguel Cotto
His demeanor, his no BS attitude in and out of the ring, is beast!..He's never been in a dull fight in my opinion..Comment

Cotto, the dude has heart, is all about business when its fight time, is dedicated and is always in a good fight. Also his hook to the liver used to be so beautiful.

I have a number of favorites, but ill go ahead say Paulie Malignaggi.
A boxer with virtually no power, who has to win every single one of his fights solely on skill and grit. Always takes the hard fights. Isn't afraid to talk ****, but is always been classy in defeat and doesn't make excuses.
I mean, how many times has the guy been written off? Showed heart of the highest order against Miguel Cotto. Was supposed to be an easy fight for Juan Diaz. He was supposed to become a Golden Boy gatekeeper after the Khan loss, and then he walked into an undefeated, Roach-trained champions back yard and stopped him.
Lastly, the article about Paulie giving his title belt to the family of a murdered kid who boxed, so he could be buried a champion, really solidified Paulie to me as one of the best guys in boxing. And you know what's so great about it? There's no photos. No video. He didn't bring a TV crew or announce it on his twitter as some self-serving tool to promote himself.
Hats off to the Magic Man. A real ****ing champion.Comment
