Comments Thread For: DeGale: Fighting Froch Next Year Would Be Fantastic!

European super middleweight champion James DeGale told Sky Sports Punchlines that he would love to position himself for a 2013 summer showdown with countryman Carl Froch. The 2008 Olympic gold medal, 26-years-old, is looking to put his career back on track after sitting out due to a contractual dispute with former promoter Frank Warren.

This guy is really really delusional... No one likes him and he's looked ropey at European level, any of the Super Six guys would eat Degale alive... I'd rather watch him settle his sparring grudge with Eubank Jr in the ring.

Froch brutally KOs DeGale. Why can't this kid keep his mouth shut?

I've said this before in this column, but make no apologies for repeating: more British fight fans paid to watch Groves v DeGale last year than have paid to watch any of Froch's last six fights. DeGale - and by the way, who knows what he's doing next - is an Olympian and a big name; people want to see this fight. Don't worry about that

              LOL.

Froch could stomp DeGale and Groves on the same night. No upside for Carl and nevermind 50/50, this wouldn't even be a 90/10 fight.

                Groves might spark Froch now.

Either him or DeGale will have beaten Froch in the next 2 years though.

                  No chance IMO.

Froch batters them both, with relative ease.

Froch doesn't beat anyone with relative ease. Normally he's the won who never wins in a fantasy match-ups but now you think he trumps DeGale and Groves easily?

I can see Groves fighting and beating Froch soon, if promoters can agree.

                    No chance to what?
