As reported earlier, on Wednesday afternoon I caught up with trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. inside of Johnny Tocco’s Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, as he confirmed to me that he has been in discussions with Victor Ortiz and his team about training the former welterweight champion in the near future.
Ortiz is coming off of a disheartening loss to Josesito Lopez on June 23rd in which he suffered two fractures on the right side of his jaw before opting not to come out for the ninth round.
