    Man why yall bashing TS? It's a simple question.

    @TS
    Have you ever sparred? I think Gambler pretty much answered it all tho. When you are in a ring doing work vs someone else its much more tiring. I know some gyms/trainers dont give a **** and throw you in the ring from the first day but I dont think thats right. To me a good trainer will not let you in that ring till you're in tip top shape.

      does it really matter??

      can a fighter just put in their gym work, bag,pads, shadowboxing, skipping etc
      Actually boxers don't have to run everyday for cardio, rope skipping already takes care of that. The reason why they run so often is for weight loss.

      Ground work is necessary IMO. You need a minimum level of muscle strength and muscle stamina. Try taking solid bodyshots with a weak core.

        Jumping rope with an elevation mask it crazy! Running is for both though. Cardio and weight loss. Anyone who has had a fight or sparred knows how vital conditioning is for this sport.

            Ah I see. Now it sounds pretty weird that you're asking this. Who the hell trains you? Lol

            But like Gambler said, it gets harder as you step your game so it might catch up to you one way or another.

                Here's a better question, do you think you'd make it past the 5 round without conditioning? lol

                  I will say though there is no set path to success, so that could work out just fine for you.

                  However, I will stand by what I said that it will get much more difficult to avoid conditioning if you try to make a career of boxing, especially as you move up in length of fights and quality of opposition. You should try and set good habits now while you are coming up rather than building bad ones.

                      man the replies in this thread were confusing me, ts is basically saying do you really need roadwork if you make up for it in gym work(sparring/bag etc)

                      as for ground work, i dont think you can get away with avoiding that
