He really relys on that size advantage and his team knows that. His style at 168 isn't as effective with guys bigger and stronger. He needs brute strength to overcome the lack of technical abilities.

Once Chavez is off the marijuana it should be easier for him to start making weight.
It's only when he starts taking speed to make weight we should be worried.

How will Chavez learn from his mistakes? He's making the biggest one by staying at 160 instead of moving up to SMW. Has he not seen his son at the weigh-ins? He looks like he could be in one of those "Feed The Children" infomercials. Tell your son to get his big ass up to SMW and fight Pavlik. Nothing about Chavez will improve as long as he continues to drain himself, he'll never be in peak physical condition.
I used to wonder why Chavez Sr. (such a highly-touted fighter) didn't train his son, but I don't even think Jr. wants his father in his corner anyway. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and both seem to have a couple screws loose.Last edited by kiaba360; 09-24-2012, 12:10 AM.
