Sounds like a smart move until he matures.
GBP has him on a crash course with Mayweather. Canelo isn't being protected from Floyd, he's being protected from the 2nd-tier opponents in his division.

Canelo Alvarez will be able to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr on the day Floyd collects his first social security check and not until!

Remember when Arum came out saying he was protecting Chavez from Martinez? You best believe GBP feels the same way about Canelo and the division his in.

They are not protecting him from Floyd. They are making money off of him while he fights the **** opposition he fights to then cash out on him vs Floyd while he avoids his whole division. And you know what his dumbass fans are gonna say? Oh well he's young and lost to the great Mayweather. He can still come back from that good experience. Not realizing his whole division would do to him the same thing Floyd did. Actually if Cotto beats Trout, Canelo might not even make it to Floyd. If Cotto loses they gonna duck Trout again and feed him to Mayweather.

canelo would lose but it would be a competitive fight and i see canelo hurting floyd multiple times. most of these "lol floyd easy decision" ******s tend to forget mayweather is 35 and fighting way above his weight class.

And then there's people like you overrating the fck out of Alvarez when he's done nothing to merit it.

            Shame.

Floyd's never been properly floored in his entire career and has fought atleast 4-5 guys off the top of my head who weighed 10+ pounds more than him on fight night but Canelo is going to be the first guy whom floyd cant handle his power. Right.

Floyd went into survival mode. Evident by his legs going jelly, and the holding.

Then proceeded to beat the living tar out of Mosley for the next 10 rounds.

Floyd won 10 rounds to 2 and was never even dropped. Canelo's power though would win him the fight against an ATG with one of the best defenses of all time. Sure.

Impact of round 2 in the floyd mosley fight was floyd losing a 10-9 round, losing one point. You can get creative and call it jelly legs ect but the ultimate impact is the same.

I am not denying Floyd beat Shane for the rest of the fight. But he did go into survival mode when hurt.
