Why does everyone say Floyd had this great chin? The only example they use is look at how shane hit him and came back. Shane got in two good shots and Floyd was on ***** street his chin his decent above average his recoop and instincts to survive Is what's so good.

I agree. Hopkins would have got off the ropes as soon as Cotto landed the first jab. I've never seen Hopkins cornered on the ropes like a sitting duck and let an opponent fired off and landed the same combo punches on him like Cotto did on Floyd in round 8. Even at the age of 47, Hopkins has been lighter on his feet and move around better than Floyd has in his last three fights.

Lets be honest, if Shane would of got out of the way instead of hugging Floyd after he landed those two right hands, Floyd would of been DROPPED.
Their defenses are different. When a fighter comes in on Bernard he either circles away or grabs him. When a fighter comes in on Floyd he goes into his shell, basically ******** that his reflexes and rolling is better than the opponents combination accuracy. Floyd can be hit in his shell, hell we saw what Cotto can do when Floyd is rolling.. he wasn't teeing off but he WAS hitting Floyd.
And we saw Floyds anticipation/reflexes slown down a bit when Mosley landed two straight bombs on Floyd.
Then we saw it again when Floyd and Cotto we're standing in the middle of the ring and Cotto landed 3-4 jabs... IN A ROW, right on Floyd.. Floyd didn't move, slip, counter, roll... no he took them to the face and got a bloody nose.
He's 36 years old in 3 months, **** will change.

I do probably agree that if Floyd fights for two more years he will certainly get beat especially if he hangs out at 154 where he has huge disadvantages.
Still I don't think Floyd ends up like Jones because what Jones did was very hard to deal with but he always fought the same way, he basically laid his hand on the table and said beat me no one could do that until he faded. Floyd approaches things a bit differently and changes how he fights on a fight by fight basis, while while he might not have the longevity of a B-Hop he should fare better than Jones as he ages.
Also I don't think Floyd took that much damage in the Cotto fight~ there are B-Hop fights where he took just as much or more damage maybe in a different pattern by different sorts of guys but he didn't have some perfect defensive style but he did adapt well as he aged changing up his game, it remains to be seen if Floyd will do that.

Floyd has a decent chin, but he can't take a good punch too well. He does know how to survive though. It's in his genes, his pops and uncle weren't capable of taken good punches. Roger "Shaky legs" Mayweather.

Floyd Sr. I think had a pretty good chin, he took a pretty bad pounding from Ray Leonard and made it almost to the end.
