He's a good action fighter but very limited as far as boxing skill. He has a punchers chance against most guys but why so many rate him highly I'll never know. He has been exposed by superior boxers 3 times. He's really not that good.

He's just an exciting guy with good power
Lower 10 rank in 140, thats about it -
Maidana, Rios, Alvarado, etc. All very exciting fighters, Top 10 intheir divisions, good fighters. But they can always run a big risk of losing and being out classed by a solid boxer.
Alexander-Maidana, Rios-Abril, Alvarado-Prescott (first 4 rounds showed he can be out classed by a fighter with speed and skill). But if they catch you and can hurt you, they can overwhelm you and/or stop you.Comment

Coming off the ortiz win many fans were talking about him as being a war machine at 140. Then Khan and Alexander exposed just how limited he is. Now I see someone suggesting he fights the much bigger canelo. While Alverez isn't the most skilled boxer he will take maidana to school if it last or just crush him early. I wouldn't even say the guy is top 20 at 140Comment
