Puerto Rico is a part of the US. Its a Commonwealth. Its definitely not an independent nation and it has no sovereignty.

I think in the case of accents a British accent is the upper class, crisp, clear accent that you always see on American TV when they need some upper class twit to talk about the Royal Family

I have a London accent, someone from Liverpool a Scouse accent, and so on but the posh generally have regional accents trained out of them & have a British accent. That's my view, rightly or wrongly.

But getting back to the original point, the author is showing his naivety/ignorance when talking about a Scot facing a Brit. It's the same as saying someone from Kansas fighting an American. It's a Scottish fighter against an English fighter, or a Londoner, or a ****ney. But NOT Scot against Brit.

It does make me laugh when Yankesses say stuff like "I just totally, like, love a British accent."

Because you know damn well they don't wanna listen to someone from Yorkshire.

          Isn't that the truth.

I have two accents. My real, South London accent, and my Hugh Grant accent I use when out in public

Best if Burns stays home. He will come to the US face Broner and get beat on. That wouldn't be good for his career.

I dunno. Getting robbed in a boxing match in America can do good sometimes.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, Broner would knock Burns out without too much trouble methinks.
