Even when margo stopped Sergio, Sergio still had all his senses at the time the rev waved it off.

What may be fragile about Sergio are his facial features. There was something wrong with his eye in the Dzin fight, and it had his corner stalling for extra time in the corner. I believe Barker busted his nose. Chavez Jr gave him a cut around the eye.

He has a very good chin.

You don't take shots from Pavlik and Chavez with a bad chin. One hits insanely hard and the other is a cruiserweight. Like Gamboa used to, he gets off balance at times which can lead to knockdowns. Chavez is about the only person to hurt him.

***Margarito doesn't get mentioned because he is a cheat. Nobody knows how long he'd been fighting with plaster***

This. His chin and punch resistance are fine, but he seems to bruise/cut easily. Doesn't matter much though, because he rarely presents a stationary target and is usually looking for the counter. If you hit him, be prepared to have something thrown back.

He might not have a great chin, but as long as he is able to avoid getting hit cleanly, he will be fine. He got reckless in the 12th. That could be an indicator of his chin, but I think fatigue played a major part in that.

V.good chin, the size difference was almost comical between him and chavez jr, add to the fact he threw 108 shots in round 11 and moved all fight I think he can be excused from getting hurt by a MUCH bigger guy even roy was commenting chavez looked like a big crusier weight

                  I'd give his chin a good 7.5 or 8 out of10

                  And recuperating abilities 9.5/10

Don't think it really does. And don't worry, I'm not going to bring up the whole loaded gloves theory; just looking at Martinez's physique in that fight reveals how different of a fighter he was.

If you want a more sarcastic argument, consider the fact that plenty of people still defend Canelo (and up until this past fight, JCC Jr) as being "not ready" for more dangerous fights. If 40+ fights, nay 40+ victories (if you can really call them that) doesn't count a fighter as ready, I don't think 16 fights (the amount Sergio had under his belt before Margarito) does either.

Without sounding like too much of a fan boy, I think this last weekend was impressive because Martinez proved (or at the least, tried to prove) a lot of speculations about his weaknesses wrong. He didn't take rounds off at any point and he traded on the inside with a much larger fighter.

                      Chin seems to be solid.
