He is incredibly overrated. Can someone name 5 boxers in his resume that make him so damn great? People are blinded by his speed and flashy style, and forget that he was a known steroid user.

No one said he's the greatest ever just 1 of them but his athletic abiltys are unmatched.

Also for anyone who says his resume is crap and his only good wins are Toney and Hopkins isnt thinking clearly it's not the greatest in the world but his LHW resume is pretty decent some cab drivers but also some good fighters there. Could have been better at SMW MW pretty much Hopkins is his best work there.

Casual fans and people who just started watching boxing 3 years ago, are ignorant and have no idea who Jorge Castro, Reggie Johnson, Eric Harding, Julio Cesar Gonzalez, Thulani Malinga, etc are and just assume they are bums because Roy dominated them.

first of all , I love to watch Roy Jones fights

but when you give a look to his resume , level of competition and the type of opponents he fought , you can find out easily that he isn't the best in his generation at least
Hopkins is in better in boxing history records

and if RJJ wasn't american , people would put him in the same category of Calzaghe or a little higher

so being american plays a role in this overrating , and yes he is overrated for sure

In terms of style I put RJJ in the same bracket as Ali, Athletically gifted Boxers with insane reflexes & grace.

He was the best of his era.... he beat plenty of great fighters and most elite fighters of his time..

His skill and style put him above any other fighter Ive ever seen, with Ali and FMJ right there with him. IMHO could have been GOAT had he not lost his speed after that terrible weight gain to fight Ruiz
