Skillswise Roy is not overrated whatsoever. We have tape of him in his prime. Just watch it. The guy is the most talented God Gifted athlete to ever box, PERIOD. Resume wise.........I will admit his resume doesn't match his vast skills.

Yea but they're only ranked great at HW, Roy is a great boxer as well but with him, we're talking about all the weights and boxers. Not just one division. So there is your difference.

FYI I think Roy is a top 50 ATG but when people talk about top 10 and all that's when it gets severely overrated.

depends how he's rated. if we're talking talent, he's arguably the most gifted to ever lace em up. if we're talking resume, its thin, but he's beaten some great fighters like toney and hopkins.

The former 4 division world title belt holder and ex undisputed light heavy weight champion has many accolades in the ring but I think we can all agree he went on for too long. Given his current state and his severe lack of boxing fundamentals being exposed have people overrated Roy Jones jr?

His natural athleticism made him virtually unbeatable but should the fact he was a great athlete earn him a place amongst the greatest fighters?

I have a feeling history will be less kind to him than those of us that followed his prime.
