If Mayweather fights Canelo at 154 would it be for the Ring/Lineal Title?

If Winky was the last lineal champ, then that means that lineage is dead, another one must be started. The way that happens is if the top 10 all fight each other.

Lineage is between the basically "unanimous" #1 and 2 fighters of a division.

How can a #1 and #3 start a lineage? that makes no sense. Its just a Ring rules designed to make their belt a freebie. The Ring belt is NOT automatically the lineal title. Half of the "Ring belt holders" arent even lineal champs

that's not a fact. The ring belt doesn't always mean it's lineal, especially now with their new whacky rules.

Also, I would have to question the logic by the Ring of having Floyd #1 in the division by having one fight and beating Cotto who only beat Yuri Foreman, washed up Mayorga/Margarito. The Ring lost a lot of credibility which is why a lot of the top guys left (Nigel Collins, etc.).
