He was on "The Contender" (can't remember which year) and was eliminated after losing his first fight (can't remember who beat him either). Many of the other fighters were surprised because they'd heard of him and he was one of the favorites to win. Great nickname but it didn't help him on the show...
I posted on this thread that I believed that Wilson was completely untalented, as slow as molasses and just a palooka. It was printed but now mysteriously seems to have disappeared. Does the topic starter have some kind of influence with the management??
He used to have some entertaining interviews after fights as well. In spite of his obvious limitations Wilson was a entertaining fighter. He belongs at cruiserweight and in local club fights, not on the world scene fighting heavyweights abroad. But I guess the paydays are better.
He began a good run as a contender in 2006 with a KO of Daniel Judah. After a good streak he became a bit disappointing with sub par efforts. Thought he could have gone further. But he was in some fun fights and could really crack as well as take a great shot. Seemed like a good dude. Lastly, looks like Armold (Gary Coleman) from different strokes on a mega dose of growth hormone and steroids.
