Cotto - Martinez at 157 would be great.

Exactly.. Martinez will do what Mayweather did and outbox Cotto and make him lose worse because Sergio has way more power then Floyd!!

Besides rematches with Pacquaio and Floyd this is teh best fight for Cotto.

Money wise maybe Alvarez is a better, but legacy wise beating Martinez >>>>>> beating ginger!!

I hope Cotto accepts the challenge!

Floyd isn't big enough to fight Middleweights. He was already under sized fighting Cotto and De La Hoya, and even Ortiz. Floyd-Sergio in terms of size is like Broner-Donaire or Sergio-Dawson, the other guy is just too big.

I would like to see Sergio fight Cotto next or Alverez, then Mayweather and then retire. Chavez Jr is not on his level and doesn't deserve a rematch. Knocking a man down in the 12th after getting dominated and humiliated for 11 rounds does not warrent a rematch. Chavez Jr should fight Macklin or Barker next. He should have to earn another title shot by beating another top contender.

Anyways, the timing is perfect for this fight. Martinez won't be fighting for 8-9 months because of the hand and knee, and Cotto fights in December. Good timing for a May/June showdown.
Cotto vs Martinez June 2013 p.r. parade weekend? I would love that.

                    cotto vs matinez

There is no way that cotto can beat martinez he gives up alot of size and weight to martinez and cottos punch has not followed him as he has moved up in weight matinez by an easy decision.

Martinez dont like it to the body, and his chin aint all that. He's been hurt and or drop in most of his fights since Cintron. Cotto would control the pace and hammer Martinez to the body.

If Cotto's Conditioning is as good as it was vs floyd or close to it, Martinez gets beaten up. Its not like Cotto will win every run and then stop Martinez, but you'll see a early close fight and then mid rounds Martinez face starts looking like that dude from the goonies.

My prediction Cotto TKO9 in a very close fight in points till that moment!
:lmao2: once kneeguel feels sergios power he'll go into retreat mode like he always does....
