Canelo beat a man who had never even fought at 154 before for the "world championship". In any other sport that would be laughable.

I do think Saul Alvarez is a good fighter, throws solid combos, needs to work on his footwork and ring movement but if he was a contender, I'd be raving about him but he is a world champion who barely beat a 40 years old Mosley, beat a ww and a lww and a faded British fighter who had already lots quite a few times domestically. How that certifies him as champion or worthy of beating Floyd and Cotto is beyond me.

I'm trying so hard to like Canelo, but fights like last night are an embarrassment. I understand it wasn't the fight he wanted to make but it proved nothing against such a naturally smaller man. I actually think Canelo has some skills, but until he fights a prime fighter that is his own size we will never know. Also, he needs a real fight before taking on Floyd or Cotto. He will be shocked that the punching bags throw back at the highest level.

I agree, there are some good qualities present but the day somebody backs him up with good boxing, he won't know how to fight. The guy doesn't know how to fight backing up and his power won't be here fighting in reverse because he needs to be planted to generate all his power.
