Roach - Fail Coach Of Year

Freddie talks a lot of sh-t so he brings some of the hate upon himself.

But most of it is real ******.

Does anyone remember how utterly awful Jr. used to be, when he was labouring to SD wins against Matt Vanda? He's actually shown a ton of improvement since he hooked up with Roach. I'm sure that some of that improvement was down to naturally maturing as a fighter (he is basically learning on the job, since he had no AM fights). But is there any doubt he's been improving from fight to fight since he's been with Freddie? Does anyone think that Chavez Sr, who is heavily involved his Jr's training camps, would allow Freddie to keep taking his 10% if he was a hopeless fraud?

But hey. F-ck it. Let's disregard all that and go with the simple narrative that Roach is sh-t cos he's got no champs in his stable anymore.

Never mind that the love child of Eddie Futch and Ray Arcell could not have made Jr. somehow beat a fighter Sergio last night. Most people on here knew Jr. would not win, yet still want to blame Roach for an outcome that was fairly obvious?

Boxing fans are simpletons. I despair whenever I see a fighter get KOd and then they all recommend the fighter goes with Floyd Sr, who is gonna make them Willie Pep within an 8 week training camp.

Floyd Sr being the guy who hasn't coached a champ in how long? Since Hatton got flattened? And before that?

There is a discussion to be had about Roach's status as an elite trainer. But it's hard to have it here, when you've got Floomos hating on Roach due to association, and others who think Naazim Richardson is a better coach than Freddie

I can accept people being critical of Freddie, as long as there isn't an obvious agenda at play.

But if you've been reading this forum for the last 6 months, Freddie is basically now regarded as a sh-t trainer who will single-handedly ruin a fighter; a fraud who is only now being exposed.

But this is a guy, let's not forget, who is going down in the HOF for the work he has done with Pacquiao.

Someone who has trained Pac, Toney, Tyson, Tapia, Virgil Hill, Hopkins etc.

And now this same person is not fit to carry Naazim's jockstrap?

I don't know what Freddie Roach did to piss people off, but it's hilarious how this site tries to pretend he's a terrible trainer every time one of his fighters loses. Let's just forget everything else his fighters have done, he was always overrated crap who has no idea what he's doing!

The goal of any trainer is to make a fighter the best he can be. Perhaps we have seen the best of Chavez Jr. and Khan.

There is no way Khan should have lost his last fight, and under many trainers he would not have. He had a significant speed and reach advantage, yet he was mixing it up with a guy whose only hope was to land a huge punch. Khan should have been jabbing and moving, but Freddie had him standing toe-to-toe.

As much as I dislike him, Khan was right to leave Freddie.

Who knew that having 60 fighters and no discipline and no personal time for any of them except the golden egg will come back to bite Roach in the ass? Oh I did, I been saying for a while that Roach overrated ass is piggybacking Pacman's success and he having 50 Boxers 10 MMA guys in his camp is a waste of time since he makes them jump thru hoops just to see him and when they do he doesnt even train them or teach them anything. Roach is a complete joke, the only reason people dont say the truth about Roach is because of his condition, but I dont care, I'll always call roach a Hollywood hack who got his gym from an Actor and piggyback the success of 1 fighter..disease or no disease

Boxing's pretty much like any other sport.

When the team wins the players get the praise, when team loses the coach gets the flack most of the time.

But Roach's losing streak is ridiculous it's time for him to review and reflect.

i don't know if you could knock roach too much for having chavez jr lose to martinez...I mean it's such an incredible endeavor to take a guy who is nowhere near ranked the top ten best p4p and who hasn't even fought an elite fighter and have him beat one of the best p4p fighters in the world and the lineal champ at 160..also pac's loss was a robbery so can't knock him for that too much either.
