But this is a guy, let's not forget, who is going down in the HOF for the work he has done with Pacquiao.

Someone who has trained Pac, Toney, Tyson, Tapia, Virgil Hill, Hopkins etc.

And now this same person is not fit to carry Naazim's jockstrap?

I've always stated that Roach is a basic trainer. That list of names there... those guys were champs before they went to Roach [and lets stray from the whole Toney-steroid deal].

Look at the styles of Pacquiao, Khan, and Linares. They all fight the exact same way. I think matchmaking has had a huge role in what's made Roach successful. I mean, look at Chavez Jr... he had zero idea how to cut off the ring. Maybe Roach was planning to teach him how to do that the day Jr. cancelled, but fact of the matter is that Pacquiao had the same issue when a 39-year-old Mosley was doing the same thing as Martinez without throwing punches. Mayweather-DLH is another example. Look at Peterson-Khan... Khan tried to prance around, but Peterson had the foot-speed that Maidana didn't as he was able to stop the pity-pat and move by cutting off the ring and forcing Khan into engages [which led to point deductions for clear pushing]. And what trainer allows his fighter to believe he's allowed to be an offensive lineman in the ring?

Great trainers adjust to certain styles of fighting where matchmaking can cover up the actual abilities of a trainer and/or fighter.

Nacho or Garcia. Garcia because his fighters fight with reckless abandon or Berenstein because if Chavez Jr. was going to come out gun-shy as a cruiserweight, he could have at least worked on countering.

you overlooked the performance of martinez, the type of fighter chavez jr is during training and fight night. the result wouldve been the same, skill quality, talent and experience of martinez would always end up with the same result.

I don't doubt that at all. For 11 rounds, he was cruising against Jr. I think Martinez just got too brave in the 12th after getting caught and it backfired. All I did was give names of trainers who I think would have had a more positive impact of Jr.'s performance and actually taught him how to cut off a ring. Plus, they speak spanish and don't say things like "you gotta fight".... remember the priceless advice and coaching Roach was giving to Khan and Pacquiao between rounds in Peterson-Khan and Marquez-Pacquiao [you can pick any of the three].

Lets take into account the knee of Martinez. He seemed lazy an slow leaning back which is how he got hit with that right.

You know your fighter is outclassed when you say "Hes just too fast..." There's only so much he could do... Beat on the inside, out thrown significantly, beat on the outside, out body punched, Walked down, and Going against that type of speed... Yeeeah... Just too much.

That makes it even worse. Roach couldn't guide his fighter to victory against a 37-year-old with a hurt knee and broken hand.

Alls I ask is why doesn't the guy teach his fighters how to cut off the ring, or counterpunch, or use head movement; slip and roll punches so they can fight on the inside? Why can't Roach do that?

Roach problem is he doesnt respect the JAB, none of his boxers use a jab, he puts emphasis on soft flurries instead.

No need to say bad things about Freddie Roach.
Has had a great career as a trainer.
