Say what you want but underestimating Chavez Jr by expecting him to be afraid of you when he will have 10 pounds on you and he can take a punch is foolish. Martinez better have a plan B.

He just made me look at this fight in a different way. If Chavez starts eating those bombs it will be Marg/Cotto 1. Mark that shyt down.

Interesting. Cant wait to see this.

Besides, when did Sergio become so good? Was it after he got KO'd by Margo?

Listen, a few fights with Paul Williams doesn't qualify for the hall of fame. But suddenly, Sergio is now the best fighter in the world? Now way. He's just an average fighter who got "juiced up" and won a few fights. I hope he gets KO'd and we never here from him again. He's just a loud mouth bum.
have you seen any of his fights? hes gotten better through out the years! His mental and psychical athleticism has grown. and been proven....when JCCjr has not. Hes fought nobody! JCCjr gets props for fighting a P4P fighter and will get more respect if he beats him!

        in my opinion

Fighting Pavlik and Williams(twice) along with some english stiffs doesn't qualify him for the HOA let alone the p4p list. And with this fight, Chavez isn't some p4p fighter either. I expect a win by Maravilla, although I'm rooting for Chavez, but until he steps up and fights some top caliber champs above, at his weight or below at 154, I don't see how he can be in the p4p top 5

Jr might be a little nervous & cold at the first bell, but as soon as Sergio gives em a nice hot one, hell wake up. Gonna be a war no doubt both men will get hurt. martinez will not have felt these kind of power punches since margarito(Chavez is way stronger). Chavez hasnt faces an awckward style since Molina(Martinez punches way harder). War no doubt! May the beast man win.

The MW division is young, and many guys still have to fight one another. Sergio deserves credit for beating a top 5 MW in Chavez, regardless if the fight is a mismatch on paper.

rewatch the Margarito fight and ask yourself if he has changed his style much. He's filled out more and isn't a kid, but he still moves and throws his punches in the same way and get hit in the same way. He just hasn't been in the ring with an agressive fighter like Margo since. Williams is high volume but not so much a heavy hitting pressure fighter. Pavlik puts on the pressure but cannot turn himself which made things a lot easier for Sergio to escape when Pavlik was able to cut the ring off. Everyone else was a boxer who exposed Martinez early in the fight that you could use basic fundamentals to take him off his game and connect straight rights on him. too bad for Barker and Macklin (and Dzinzerik, the 154 lb fighter) they weren't pressure fighters or high volume punchers and Junior is a little bit of both when he gets going. Margo times 10. no wonder why Sergio is trying to play mind games, he has to convince himself!

What I've noticed is that if you hit Jr with a good shot he comes after you like a "Raging Bull" compliments of Jim Lampley. I hope he's got on the tiger stripe glasses tonight.
