Been saying this for years.
Barker and Macklin were able to deal with him until he upped the pace/assault on them. He can't fight 12 rounds at a good pace, if he could Barker and Macklin would have been anniahalated.
Chavez will win, stop him in the 10th.

That's sheer speculation but at his age and with his style guys can get old overnight and the possibility always needs to be considered. Whether it's this fight or 5 fights from now it's inevitable that we see this decline.
Chavez could produce some real issues with his pressure. However he is far from unhittable and isn't exactly Pernell Whittaker. Martinez with his speed and sharpness will lead him into that left hand and we'll see how good Chavez's chin really is. He appears to have a good chin but no1 has tee'd off on him with the kind of power and speed of Sergio.

Chavez has never been a fighter with a stellar work rate, and he is not going to become one overnight.

What Roach fails to see is that Martinez uses those rounds to his advantage. Sergio has massive stamina, and he likes to push the accelerator in the later rounds while the opponent is more tired than he is.
Also just look at Pavlik, he thought he had the fight and was dominating Sergio so he got confident and that's when Sergio started to unleash his power. Pavlik just couldn't take it, he was already playing Sergio's game and there was no way he was going to win it. Just see how he started to get closer and that's when he was caught by several punches that completely opened up his face.
