As much as I respect Sergio Martinez for his skill as a fighter, Ward would whup him out. Sergio is a very good fighter but Ward is better but the fight would probably be a good scrap if the weight situation was balanced. I don't see it happening anyways.

Did he really criticize Manny? I'm pretty positive he did say that he understands if the fight never happens, because Manny is too small. To me, it is more like wishful thinking out loud. Him and Floyd and him and Ward would be incredible fights, if they can get made, and both are healthy. I'd also would like to see a prime Floyd vs a slightly smaller Ward...reality sometimes sucks!Martinez would seriously drop to 152 for Floyd or Pac?
He's be dead at that weight. Both would wipe the floor with him.
Martinez is pathetic - he criticizes Pacquiao for not fighting him, even though he's a middleweight and Pac is a welterweight, yet stringently refuses to fight Ward or indeed any super-middleweight.
Talk about double standards.
If you beat Chavez, fight Golovkin. Forget about Mayweather, that's never going to happen.

Taking Ward out of his element by moving down would be an exelent fight. Sergio Ward would be worth buying. But if Ward loses, everyone will cry...he was weight drained balh blah blah!
But for now...Sergio better not over look JCCjr on this fight. Jr is coming to fight for sure and Serg will have more than his hand full or more than he antisipated, for on fight night.Comment

Sergio may be more raw(and that obviously works), but, yes I would think that would really be a sweet "scrap", as long as age doesn't catch up to Sergio. Would be good for the fans if there was a reasonable catch-weight agreement made...but the way I understand it, is that Ward can't really go down much. Wouldn't be wise for Sergio to also have extra weight on, at his age. Reality is such.Comment

Except that logic fails because Pac fought for Martinez's 154 title. Nice of you to leve that out... Pac cant come up 3 pounds for Cotto or Martinez, but he can for Marg? >_>... martinez hasnt fought at 168 and is actually at 160 due to not finding fights... Its like they say, if you cant the heat stay out the kitchen. Pac went up, fought for a gifted title at a weight class (which belonged to the top guy there) and youre surprised he got called out for it? S hit im a huge pac fan but Im not blind.Martinez would seriously drop to 152 for Floyd or Pac?

Anyway...Martinez isnt asking Pac to fight him at 160 and thats why that argument is invalid. Pac said 150, Martinez said ok and called the bluff and we didnt hear anything ever again.
People forget that Martinez sees himself as a 154 pounder, in his mind he doesnt feel like 152 would kill him.
Theres nothing wrong with both Martinez and Ward basically saying they arent going into each others division. Ward possibly loses at 160, Martinez has almost no chance at 168. None of them are scumbagging their way into titles or fights in each others divisions and avoiding each other then acting like its a huge deal going back up or down. Let the dudes be .Comment

Umm last time I checked, Martinez was a natural 154 fighter who moved up to 160. In his very first fight at that weight he took out the undisputed champ, Kelly Pavlik and then destroyed one of the most avoided fighters in the game, Paul Williams. I wouldn't call that gutless!

Calling out the best fighter from the division above and asking him to move down to your weight is gutless. Period.
