Its gonna be a good fight!!! Yeah I think Martinez is more of the underdog on this fight than before. He is fighting aginst all the odds IMHO, since it seems that he agreed to fight JR. on his terms. So yes he needs a KO to stake his claim. But honestly Jr. seems to be young enough to just not give a Fck and the kid is confident. I dont expect it to be as easy as Martinez expects, but I am pretty sure he has trained for the worst. Only ***** in his amor, is that he's been there before with Margarito(loaded gloves or not), and if things dont go his way will he fold?Comment

Yup, I been picking Martinez since the fight came out even though I do think it will be a tougher fight than expected. I just think Martinez is too skilled for him. It get's stopped in the 8th.Comment

Jr is a good kid, but i agree with Martinez on this article. Jr says he wants to take the Chavez name to new lengths but how can he do it without self-discipline? he portrays everything a boxer shouldn't be. His dad was so successful and won so many fans over because he respected the sport of boxing.
Junior needs to derail from the path he's on now, and adopt a new attitude toward boxing, or else I see nothing but clouds and darkness over his career.Comment

Well said my friend. Well said. Why would Chavez take the sport seriously? Everything has been handed to him on a silver platter. he's made millions of dollars fighting nobodies. While Chavez was getting completely undeserved results against Carlos Molina, Martinez was getting draws against the likes of Kermit Cintron (who he not only knocked out, but decisively beat on points). Chavez fought in front of packed houses when he wasn't in the top hundred of his division. He's been one the most protected, coddled fighters in history. He doesn't appreciate how tough it is to make it big in this sport--his actions show rather that he takes it all for granted.
Don't get me wrong, it is not Chavez fault it has all been gifted to him. But he has not shown any humility and that disgusts most fight fans. This is a guy that has been given the middleweight championship of the world without having ever fought the top fighters in the division (and if you try to argue that Rubio, Lee or Zbik should be considered in that group, you are doing a great disservice to the deep middleweight division). He should be humble and try to prove he deserves the opportunity to get in the ring with Martinez. He should acknowledge that the strap he wears around his waist was improperly and disgustingly taken by the corrupt WBC and its fraud Jose Suleiman. Martinez has every right to be disgusted with Chavez and the travesty which resulted in Chavez wearing a belt that he doesn't deserve and rightfully belongs to Martinez.Comment

They asked him a question so what kind of answer was he supposed to give? Damn he's right. For the love of God, Sergio, PLEASE shut up! Dude always feels the need to vent ...hopefully he wins this weekend, just to shut his mouth about not getting a fair shake, and so forth.
He's going to end going too far, and saying something that's gonna out the fight in jeopardy. This whole PED crap doesn't need to be flying out of his mouth at the time...we know how Arum and Roach get about PED talk...they'll cancel a fight over **** like that.Comment

No he isn't right. All that stuff does is facilitate quicker liquid elimination, something he could have done naturally with a little more time and trouble, I'd think. We know he can make 160 and remain strong. So what's all the fuss and the rubbishy accusations about?? Some people rehydrate more than others, with much of it liquids. Corrales, at only 130 lb rehydrated over 17 lbs before the Mayweather fight. Gatti at 140 lbs rehydrated over 20 lbs lbs against Joey Gamache.
So what if Chavez rehydrates up to 20 lbs.......??Comment
