HBO thinks Demarco-Molina was a bad stoppage?

I was at the Ward-dawson fight, just watched it on tv for the first time right now and announcers were saying demarco-molina was a bad stoppage. really? i thought it was molinas fault 100% for squatting down and covering up. looks like he didnt know what to do in there and thought the ref was right for stopping it. do you guys think it was a bad stoppage?

No, the ref was right there, he couldn't have missed the fact that Molina wasn't taking any kind of punishment. What happened to a standing 8 count? That was a horrible stoppage to me, but oh well, not much can be done now. Kind of fucked up to go through a tough training camp and get fucked over like that.

Really bad stoppage in my opinion.

It was a world championship fight between two top-level guys. Molina got caught while he was still dry in there. He wasn't badly hurt. The referee should have sent DeMarco to a neutral corner and given Molina the count.

I understand why the ref did what he did, I just believe guys deserve a little more respect in championship bouts.

On top of that, DeMarco looked insanely unhealthy at the weigh in and one thing we all know is...Molina has is a punch, I'm not saying he would have won but his chances were pretty damn good.

I dont really see a prob with the stoppage he got knocked into the ropes crouched down and got hit with like 15 partially blocked punches ... made no attempt to take a knee or counter the refs only option was to let him get hit some more and see what happens , stop the fight , or standing 8. He chose to stop it. I think people were hoping to see a good/great fight and were disappointed they didn't get it. Cotto vs Margo 2 was a much worse stoppage

I thought it was a bad stoppage but not as bad as most the early stoppages lately. Molina should have taken a knee or held on because now-a-days referees are in a hurry to get home.

molina showed NO sign that he was gonna get out of his squat and throw back. what if the ref didnt stop it. would demarco have to fire 100 shots off like that while hes in that crouch? not saying it was a great stoppage or a great knockout. just saying its molinas fault for not fighting back. or even show some sign that he still wanted to fight

bad stoppage or not, real boxing fans know why it happened

you blame the ref? really? dude is squatting not doing anything..he's a pro, he should know how to get out of that..if he brain farted, that's on him

HBO thinks it's bad because they had to kill an extra 20mins of airtime
