My guess is Khan already has his new trainer but is milking the media about dumping Roach and when that wears thin he will make a big deal about the new coach.
It will be interesting to see if Roach spillls the beans on what he really thinks of Khan. It seems Khan is quite happy to say his losses are down to Roach but poor Fredie has to remain silent.Comment

Freddie's credibility is really on the line now with JCC jr.
Reason #379 why Chavez has to be declared the winner on saturday
But if JCC wins big and Manny puts on a show in December then Amir just looks like a whining foolComment

I am suprised Freddy didn't drop Amir. But I suppose trainers don't do that, they just hope they get dropped by the fighter so they can move on. I really doubt Roach could have done much for Khan at this point and he probably realized it after the ko loss.Last edited by TBear; 09-11-2012, 03:49 PM.Comment

There's nothing wrong with splitting with Roach. The only thing I disagree with is his making a spectacle of it. If you're going to remove yourself from Freddie Roach don't continue to hint at it and not officially do it. Even if he doesn't leave Roach, hypothetically, everything he's saying through the media will only strain their relationship. If you feel like you need to explain yourself through the media, than do so, once, not every week.My guess is Khan already has his new trainer but is milking the media about dumping Roach and when that wears thin he will make a big deal about the new coach.

Freddie to his credit has remained pretty mature about it all, and has been rather quiet. Although, I've long thought Freddie hasn't really been the talker he made himself out to be since 2010. I believe I recall Emmanuel Steward making a comment along the lines of, 'Freddie should just focus on training his fighters as opposed to talking trash,' and since then, perhaps coincidentally, Freddie has talked a lot less about other fighters and camps - it was sound advice that, again, he may have heeded (or he just grew out of it...for the most part)Comment
