    Amir Khan Drops Freddie!

MANILA, Philippines – After 2 consecutive losses, former world boxing champion Amir Khan has decided to change his training regimen and boxing coach.

Khan, who worked for years with Manny Pacquiao’s coach-trainer Freddie Roach, said he needs to bounce back from his successive loses.

“We’ll come back stronger. We are gonna change a lot of things in the camp. The coach maybe, also sparring partners, also training methods," Khan said in Philboxing.

“So we’re gonna change a lot of things. I know that I will be much better, much stronger and much [more] explosive,” he added.

Khan lost his World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior welterweight titles after being outpointed by Lamont Peterson in June 2011.

He regained the WBA belt after Peterson was found using testosterone replacement but was halted by Danny Garcia in July 2012.

Khan said he has not yet decided on who will replace Roach, but he’ll make an announcement soon.

“Not yet, I am gonna announce one next week. I am still working on it,” said Khan

No surprise, he's basically been throwing Freddy under the bus lately. He should have found him a trainer that was actually going to work on his defense in the first place. Not only that, but that chin is glass anyway.

wonder who it will be. this will be a good move for both parties..amir can find a trainer who can devote more time to him and freddie will have more time to devote to his other fighters..but khan should remember that freddie made him a two time world champ..

Khan's next opponent: "I knew I was down on the cards and he was outboxing me, but I also knew that if I could hang in there and land a good solid punch to the chin Khan would go down like a cheap Pakistani whore as he's been known to do in the past. And that's exactly how it happened Max. Shattered that glass chin like a Greek wedding."

I don't think a new trainer is going to cure his chin curse. That's been his achilles heel his whole career.

he should get Adam Booth or preferably Manny Steward and forget about going for KOs and brawls the whole time he's not made for that. If he played it smart and didn't mind delivering a few stinkers and hopping on his bike for 2 out of every thre minutes he could outpoint most guys out there - if he cotinues to get in there and mix it up his glass will be exposed again and again.

No trainer can fix a glass jaw.

Saying that, he's always needed a trainer that can do something with that awful defence, predictable offense and lack of head movement.

Not that he's even a spectacular talent, but his devoid of responsibility is why he won't even reach his full potential.

Living the celebrity lifestyle is more important to him than his craft.

He's in denial about himself being the reason for all his major flaws as a fighter
