Ajose has unreal recovery. He knows when to use the clinch to get out of trouble and to reset the fight, plus he's dangerous 100% of the time, even when he's rocked. Even after the fight Ajose seemed to be doing well, never stuttered or anything. I don't think any other 140 fighter could have beaten Ajose tonight and like Showtime said, it was just Ajose's bad luck that he drew Lucas. The funny thing is, now that Ajose has been beaten, it may open the path towards getting a title shot with a much better chance then just being a mandatory. Boxing is full of examples of boxers who lose one fight then the next fight is for a title. Maybe Ajose's next fight isn't for a title, but maybe a few fights from now it will.

Good luck to both Ajose and Lucas, they deserve it.

just finished watching the replay of the fight and damn was it good...matthysse of course showed once again how much of a strong puncher he is and I was also really impressed with ajose who showed ALOT of heart and courage....good fight.

What idiots to say Mathysee had a punchers chance. A punchers chance is when a fighter is badly outboxed and has to turn it around. There was nothing to turn around cause Mathysee is a solid boxer with power. A precision machine. Far more than just a puncher.

Ajose overrated, lmao. Matthysse.didn't fade and fought smart. They shouldn't have stopped the fight without a count. Great fight. Matthysse was clearly winning. Why stop it?

Did you actually watch the fight? The punishment Ajose was taking was absolutely crazy and could have been career threatening. Matthyse was landing nuclear bombs on Ajose for fun, only god knows how Ajose was managing to take them but even still, just because he's somehow managing to take them the fight most definitely should have been stopped for the sake of Ajose's wellbeing. Yes i'd have love to have seen 2 more rounds of the FOTY candidate fight but the fighters health and wellbeing should always come first.

Great, great fight but i fear the damage Ajose has taken, Matthyse landed some absolute vicious bombs on him in nearly every round.

Huge props to both Matthyse and Ajose. Was massively impressed by both and hope we see Matthyse in with the likes of Garcia or i'd love to see a all Argentinian war with Maidana. Ajose should hopefully be back soon on our TV screens aswell, he made a lot of fans with that performance.

I know there is a bias brit that wont go near to this news. Ajose is tough, only that. Funny that some idiots around here were saying Garcia was ducking him and that Ajose would beat Garcia. Ajose have the style to make Garcia look good.
