The fight got stopped so Ajose wouldn't be braindead. Why let the fight go? Ajose hit Lucas with his best shots all night long and Lucas shrugged them off. The ending was already determined; no need for a fighter to take unnecessary punishment.

Great fight!!Lucas is something else!! Ajose has a tremendous heart & he could absorb punishment & after receiving extremely hard blows that would take anyone out he would amazingly recover & came back swinging!! But Matthysse never let up & kept swingi
ng that ax until the tree gave up!!Great fight & great victory for Lucas..I've always been a fan of Matthysse & now I'm also a fan of Ajose & can't wait to see either of them fight again..Even thou one can't argue with the stoppage, being the warrior Ajose is, I thought the ref could have at least given Ajose a count..

I actually feel a little sorry for Olusegun, he waited for his shot at a title for a long time and now he probably will never get that shot.

I feel bad for him in a way also. He has tons and talent and heart, but he just ran into a relentless freight train. I have a feeling though that we will see him on the networks again. He gave a great account of himself before, during and after the fight. He gained a lot of fans tonight.

Agreed. I think he deserves the chance to fight on American airwaves again.

He doesn't have the best resume but he did a decent job on the European scene. Anyways, what I mean is he was forced to wait in the mandatory position for a long time by the WBC while being promised a title shot after every defense of the belt.
