That is a shame if this purse is true especially when HBO gave Bradley and Alexander well over $1 Million each for that **** Fight but I am thinking that it is some type of guarantee for Dawson, either maybe another HBO Date with a Guaranteed Purse!
Which makes me even more confident in my Dawson pick, this dude is giving every pre-fight advantage to Ward (purse, venue, weight, ect.). He MUST know something and be extremely confident to beat Ward to make this move.

That is a normal purse for an HBO fight. Dawson is challenging Ward for his title, he is getting the challenger percentage. He knows that if he dont make the sacrifice HBO is not going to pay him much money to fight lesser competition in their network.

He knows what we know. Giving up every advantage (outside of the ring) means that there's no heat on him if he loses. He's in a win-win situation. This is the best opponent available, so he took a calculated risk.

offering 3:1 odds on Dawson, get at me

Do people think money grows on trees? These are 2 fighters with virtually no fans outside the hardcore boxing community. One hides at home and has one of the ugliest styles we have seen in last 10 years, the other is so inconsistent that we dont know who'll show up..

So tell me, how do they deserve more money? The gate will make like 50k if they lucky.... You think people gonna give them 10m when they bring in no money at all? Im surprised HBO didnt make this a PPV, since they wont get any money back from this event...

Draw 500 people, get paid millions? Oh Al-Haymon hi there......

just like Berto and other Haymon fighters, get millions while having no fans/revenue generation

You're completely missing the point here bud. Nobody is saying these guys deserve 5 million dollar purses, we're just discussing the difference in Chad and Andre's purses. It'd odd that Ward is getting such a larger purse than Dawson, when like you said both fighters don't bring in a lot of money/fans/revenue and a 50-50 split would have been fair.

I don't think that's all it is bro, Chad had shown interest in the past about coming down to 168 when the Super 8 Tourney was hot. I think he's very confident about beating Ward.

but he was on the under-under-under card of a very revunue generating event so hence their more money to throw around and plus he was in good with mayweather.

                    this sounds about right.
