I know you're exaggerating, but Roy couldn't do that with the lesser known, underrated fighters on his resume like Harding, Gonzalez, Del Valle, who were all good fighters. He will not do that with Floyd, who's a great fighter.

He won't, and you can't blame him for it, IMO.

You also have to take into account the huge age advantage Roy would have. A fairer question would be if they fought today at 154. Roy would still have the size advantage while Floyd would have the youth advantage. You can't have a young prime Roy against an old Floyd and think it's a fair fight.

this is what cracks me up about people on here----the man has never lost a fight and he'd be killed by roy at 154? come on man--and this is floyd moving up from 130 lbs....floyd can adapt to any fighter imo---

the thing about you guys is, how can you say floyd has never fought anybody like a roy jones jr but then automatically say roy would kill him?

roy has never fought anybody like a floyd mayweather jr either---toney and hopkins are nowhere near the fighter of floyd mayweather jr....toney's defense is similar in the shoulder roll area, but his footwork and balance is nowhere near floyd and neither is hopkins---

i've always said floyd would beat roy at 154 in terms of skill because of floyd's boxing mind and roy's boxing mind is nowhere near floyd's---we're talking about a guy much bigger than floyd also--that plays a role of course but p4p skillwise, roy loses to floyd no matter who likes it...

aside from the advantages Roy would have physically, at that stage in his career Roy was fearless, he would go in looking to demolish opponents, it wasn't till a bit later on that he became more about self preservation

Harding style is hard for anyone.
De Valle was getting blown out untill the knock down and then went back to getting beat he was getting lifted of the ground with body shots..

Gonzales pressured Roy and took three knockdowns for it. So what the hell was the point of using them you shoulda said someone like tarver Johnson even Griffen but the only person you can compare to Floyd is toney who got handy beat against Roy.

Martinez is half the fighter Roy Jones was in the ring. At 154, Floyd Martinez is a fight.
