Calzaghe talks Roy Jones back in 99

Great point. Middle aged boxers have off nights. That's about all Calzaghes win over Hopkins caulks up to.Comment

You won't find a majority of people ever saying Calzaghe had a good resume. You'd be lucky to find 5 % of boxing fans arguing it was any good and they would be his hardcore fans. People will always say he had a pathetic run because he did. Even for a cherry picker it was bad. Butterbean would envy his matchmaking.Comment

watch more boxing, bro cuz u don't know shitComment

With the statements you made I would have to say the same about you. Joe is a good fighter but he will never be an ATG because of his resume. If you can't admit that I won't say you don't know anything but I will say your biased and clearly a big fan of his.Comment

and get real, sure calzaghe avoided the best, but froch is not one of them. he was fighting bums on itv when calzaghe was around.Comment

lol sure he did
but going by your logic taylor beat a even younger hopkins. does that make taylor great?
lets face it calzaghe has a poor resume..........
Taylor fought Hopkins in his own country and lost to other fighters brutally, Calzaghe didn't lose to others he beat everyone else: Eubank, Reid, Mitchell, Lacy, Bika, Kessler, Hopkins, Jones...and he fought B-Hop 8,000 miles from home.
Just to say I don't think Calzaghe has the strongest resume either but it's respectable and certainly not worthy of all the vitriol aimed by daggum and one or two others.
lol Bute couldn't even take a Froch bodyshot, Calzaghe beat Froch's equal Kessler (since you're going down the triangle route)Comment

that's a silly statement weebler. Yeah calzaghe didn't lose to anyone cuz his resume is straight garbage. If Calzaghe fought the same kind of fights as hopkins did he would have lost too. I reckon if Joe fought into his 40's he would have lost as well. Besides Roy Jones, all of Hopkins losses come at the age of 40+. Taylor, Calzaghe & Dawson- 40, 43 & 47.
Likewise if Hopkins fought Joe type opponents and retired at 37 I'm sure he would have been undefeated as well.Comment
